Services
We are here for you every step of the way
Along with life comes it’s struggles and Oakview Counseling is here to help. Oakview Counseling services include, but are not limited to, Counseling and Psychotherapy, Child and Teen Counseling, and Neuropsychological/Psychoeducational Testing. Below are a few of the services offered.
Counseling & Psychotherapy
Individual counseling can alleviate both pain and suffering and add meaning and richness to life. Talking and working through your difficulties with a professional who is well informed about how to manage problems can be a life changing, powerful and healing experience. We can help you gain perspective, solve problems and develop the skills to express feelings, and recognize patterns in destructive thinking. If you are struggling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, stress, trauma, or other issues that are robbing you of satisfaction and enjoyment in life, help is available.
Psychological Testing
Each of our evaluations include a comprehensive intake session, formal testing session(s), and a detailed feedback appointment. Areas that may be assessed include intelligence; academic achievement (e.g., reading, writing, mathematics); attention and concentration; language (e.g., expressive and receptive communication); executive functions (e.g., planning, problem solving); visual- spatial and sensory-motor functioning; memory; emotion (depression, anxiety, etc.); and adaptive functioning (e.g., social abilities, independent living skills). These assessments allow for identification of a variety of neurological and psychological strengths, impairments and recommendations for improvements.

Child & Teen Counseling
There are many life stressors in today’s world that can be a challenge for both the child as well as the parents. Child and adolescent counseling can help children, adolescents and families identify and work through these stressors in a caring and supportive environment. Children and adolescents can benefit greatly from counseling. Counseling can help them learn how to identify causes of their distress, improve their skills to express and manage their emotions, and improve their problem-solving abilities. Every child is unique and there is not a one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to mental health services; children and teens face a unique set of challenges.
